Partners

Your partnership with AMBUCS Long Island gives individuals the opportunity to get their own Amtryke. We can work together to plan a Bike Day, which consists of a scheduled in-service regarding the bike designs and adaptations available for each rider. In addition, potential riders are invited to try out Amtrykes and get evaluated for their own bike.

We are confident that you will be proud to participate in the AmTryke® Project. Partnering with AMBUCS Long Island not only gives you the opportunity to further benefit the lives of many, but also receive an honorary membership to our chapter. A Bike Day will encourage a sense of community, uniting individuals with disabilities for a common goal. As our motto states, ‘Shoulders Together’.

If you are interested in hosting a Bike Day or would like additional information, please contact us at ambucsli@gmail.com and visit our website at www.ambusclongisland.com

What is a Bike Day?

During a Bike Day we present an in-service training session for your professional staff/providers. We will also assist providers with bike evaluations to fit individuals for the best riding solution for them. We would love to show you how to bring an effective bike program to your community! There is no cost to host a bike day.

An Amtryke Bike Day gives those who just took the In-Service Training the hands on experience of fitting children, adults or veterans. An AMBUCS team member will be there to answer your questions and help with any particularly difficult fittings.

As the Bike Day host, you choose who to invite. Some choose to only invite other clinicians at their facility while others invite other facilities and interested community members to participate.

You only need to provide enough room for the people you invite to be present. The visit can be outside or inside, at a clinic or community center—just keep in mind the length of the training and the comfort of your riders. We will need enough room for at least 5 trykes and several totes of adaptive accessories. We don’t need a podium, mic, or media. We do need a place to park a full sized truck pulling a 15 foot trailer.

We hope you choose to host a bike day!
